I had Blood taken last week from my artery in my wrist and now my wrist is burning where the blood was taken?

I had blood taken last week in hospital and they were trying for 2.5 hours and about 20 pokes from regular needles no luck with drawing blood so the dr decided to go into my artery and pull the blood out, it took a while to actually get into the artery and get the blood out so he was moving it a bit and after about 3 mins he finally got it, it was painful at first than it went away, of coarse I brusied pretty badly but thats to be expected but yestrday i was helping my mom with some heavy lifting and appon lifting a heavy box my wrist start burning really bad actually caused me to drop the box and still today my wrist hurts where I had the blood taken, is this normal or do you think i should go get it checked out, not too worried i just know it hurts and its annoying, i have tried a warm compress it took the intial pain awau but when i woke up this morning and carried on with my normal day and go to work now i am in pain once again, has this happened to anyone else?
