Record Player/Turntable help?

I found this record player. I don't know how old it is or the brand. It was part of a stereo system with the turntable connected separately. It didn't work when i got it and i don' have the stereo it was part of. However, I got a power input and the table turns just fine. But when the needle touches the record, I can only hear sound coming from the stylus and there is no sound from the speakers (Wires with white/red composite cables) of my radio. Is it a simple fix or is worth my while just throwing it away
