I have a trapped nerve in my neck is it worth bothering to see a doctor?

I knew its a trapped nerve as my neck really hurts and I have pins and needles in my face, arms and legs but I really hate going to see any medical people. I'm taking ibruprofen and putting ice packs on my neck is there anything else I can do?
