How much does it hurt getting your cartilage pierced?

on a scale of 1 - 10 how much does it hurt. btw i have very low pain tolerance so will it hurt a lot?? also is a needle or gun better and how long does it take to heal? do painkillers stop the pain in the healing process (like paracetamol)?xx
